WHAT IS AN LLC?
A Limited Liability Company (LLC) is a business structure formed by filing Articles of Organization with the Corporations Division of the desired state's Secretary of State. Owners of an LLC are called members. Most states allow members to be individuals, corporations, other LLCs and foreign entities. There is no maximum number of members. Unlike a nonprofit organization, an LLC is all yours as a single member to do any lawful business you want. If there will be others (members) in the LLC with you, the business affairs should be clearly spelled out in a written and notarized Operating Agreement.
